Final Free Day in the Heart of Chikwawa.

Thursday:

Today is my last free full day at Hope Village. Tomorrow I leave for Mulanje and get back on Saturday evening. On Sunday, I am packing for the biggest part of it, and on Monday I leave.

So with this being my last full free day, I decided to use it to go to Nchalo with Tom, as it would be our last time going together.

I went to prayer at eight AM and decided to get photos of the children, as I have been having some people saying that they weren't seeing any kids in the photos.

A cute photo of Snow White in her dress. Don't ask me what the kids in the right of the photo were doing, as I just noticed now.

Enert wanted a photo, so I had to take one... Lol, nah. Was my pleasure

Out the back door of Tom's shop. Here are some women collecting wood for their fires from the garden.

At ten, Tom jumped into the back of the Bantam, I sat passenger, and Evance drove us to Nchalo

Tom enjoying the back seat.
We only had a few things to grab today. One of them - oil. I grabbed one container and Evance took another one. On the way back to the truck, a Malawian ran up to me and tried to carry it for me, but I patted his arm and carried on. They all think that white people don't work, so that is why I didn't let him take it to the Ford for me.

The oil, sugar, salt and cigarette seller.
Now to go get some cheap snacks that the children like to buy.

The store employees calculate the cost of everything, count the money, and then they collect all the items, so it takes a bit of time in this shop.

Last stop -  to get some prepaid TNM phone credit.

Some fellows that I talked with. The three on the left are a few employees that work for a guy that was in the photo but then he walked out when he saw the camera. The guy on the right is the drunk as the employees told me. He kinda acted it, too. He was a little confused why I was sixteen and not a alcoholic. Those were his words.

Passing the old Malawian couple on our way back to Hope Village.

Malawian sheep strutting through the highway.

We dropped the items off at the shop when we got back to the village, and then I went back to the house for some lunch and rest.

As the two o'clock bell came round, I put on my shoes, grabbed my camera and headed out the door towards Gifti's for a going-away party for myself.

As I arrived, I noticed that they had all the food prepared: Eggs, Nsima, and Soya Meat Pieces. A new guy was there that I had never met before. His name is Moses, and he was one of Hope Village's youth leaders. That was before the youth group shut down.

As we ate, we talked about a ministry that Kelvin wanted to start. He wanted to name it after Lake of the Trees Bible Camp, but I told him that we should change it to ministry as it wouldn't be a camp. So we agreed on, "Lake of the Trees Bible Ministry." He told me that my job as a leader of it would be more along the lines of administration, travel, and money. I came up with the idea to fund-raise money. So hopefully I will be able to at Lake of the Trees. With travel, I would be responsible for getting people from one place to another. I don't really think I will be able to do this job though, as I am in Canada. So will most likely end up being someone else's job.

Word got out that I would be heading back to Canada, so Gifti's landlord and a few other people came for photos. Photo credits to Gifti.

Mind the feet as I am the one who is in Malawi.

At six, I headed back to pack for Mount Mulanje. Here are some kids collecting ground corn for their families.

Still on the way back photos.

Hope Village's sunset.

A great word that hangs upon the water tower near the Luca Home.

I spent the next hour packing, and then I ate some food. Sorry, I forgot what I ate. Probably a curry. Haha.

Another Dark Evening

This evening there was another black out, so Keiran and I figured that it would be a nice night to go out again seeing as it might be our last together.

We put on our shoes, grabbed the speaker, my iPod Nano and walked out the door.

The golden moon to light our paths.
With Leila having arriving back on the day before, bringing Keiran an iPod Nano that his sister bought him, he was busy playing around on it, so it was only me that was trying to jump onto ledges and stuff. He is the only other person I know that has an iPod Nano. Photo credits to Keiran. Thanks ya. **

I kept on ledge jumping until I started to feel it in my ankles. Then I stopped, as I knew I had to climb sixteen kilometers up a mountain in the next two days.
