Going the Extra Mile for these Awesome People

The morning started for K and I at 5:30. We had eaten breakfast and were on our bikes by six to go help out a twenty-one year old boy named Samuel. He came to the house to bike with us to his home that was a few kilometers out into the African boonies.

African Landscapes.
After arriving - it is about 2 kilometers from Hope Village - we got straight to work. We had to scrape the ground with the hoes to get rid of all of the dead land. Samuel is the African dude there. He is a really awesome guy. So if you ever come to Hope Village, make sure you get a long chance to meet him. :D

The Start.

The Mid.
The work was super hard, but finally we were done. It was about 40 feet long by about 15 feet wide. We collected our supplies. Bike underneath, we rode back to Hope Village. Just went straight home and drank a ton of water, ate lunch, and tried to write a blog post. And by two o'clock, I was out the door going to go help with the daycare.
And the Final.
The kids are really cute and amazing. They are so funny. They all think I can speak Malawian, so they keep asking me questions. Sometimes they ask me things in English. For example: 'Give me sweets.' or Give me mango, 'or Papia,' or 'food' or 'water,' etc. This photo just shows how many kids were around me. Probably fifteen.

This other photo shows one of the things that I did for one kid that in the end I had to do over twenty times. Everytime you show one kid a a thing, you have to do it to every kid one or two times each.

Here the kids are all playing a game. It is that one where two kids run in a circle and the last one to a seat has to pick another kid. Oh, right. Duck, Duck, Goose.

After heading back to Leila's house, I did some blogging (ask Keiran: I do it a lot.), ate some dinner, and headed out to the Jungle Gym, which is a huge wooden playground thing, to hang out with the teenagers. We talked for awhile, and then we decided to flash each other with the camera. They thought it was amazing and did it for quite a while. Lol.

19 year old Herold. The boss.

18 year old Intendelli.  The goof.
