(I skipped Tuesday.)
So I realized that today would be the exact same as last week: Garden work, working in the shop, and going to the hospital. So I changed it a bit by adding a whole ton of photos of the hospital, the Emery's house, and the pig pen. In total today has around 59 or 60 photos. Enjoy :)
The finished pigpen's roof. Very nice.
These piglets are some of the ones that we Lake of the Trees Work Crew and Campers earned up for. They just got the check yesterday of all the money from Lake of the Trees that was funded for pigs and goats: $1,500 or 200,000 kwatcha! Pigs cost 10,000 kwatcha each and goats cost 20, 000 kwatcha. We have only gotten these two piglets and are going to get some more goats and pigs in short while!
This is the outside of the pigpen.
Mother and Father, or Bacon and Sausage! Lol. |
And here is the inside.
There are eight, I think, rooms in this barn. The whole thing is mainly cement and bricks. And this is the hallway.
And this be the goat pen. There are some times when the goats will be on top of the ledge - that brick wall. They will jump up on these small 1 1/2 foot cement thingies that are beside the wall, and then they will jump onto the wall. It is about five feet tall. I swear they have springs in their legs. That dirt line there is part of the pipeline that we were building. I will upload a photo of the pipeline Keiran and I dug a few weeks ago in a few days.
And here is the workshop that Darren, Keiran, and a few of his employees put up earlier this year.
Here is Darren's office - inside the workshop.
Yes they have computers here in Africa. |
And this huge manmade pond is for fish-farming. In two weeks Darren, I and some other workers are going to jump in there and pull out about 1000 fish! Alot work for one day. Well, we might do it in two?
And behind me, Solomon and Luca (Luke) were hard at work building an outhouse. Another brick building. Lol.
And behold: The water tower! This and a whole ton of huge watering containers, like those ones you use for cows and horses, are used to water the gardens.
And now I will show you the Emery's house. It ain't my house; I'm considered a visitor. Lol

And of course Keiran's room. Just like any other 14 year-old. |
Keiran has geckos all over his room. He's a lizard lover. On Sunday he found three chameleons. I got a photo of one here. He's a pretty cute one. It was hard to get a still shot of him; he wouldn't stop moving. The young ones don't change colours that much, and they only have a few selected colours. When they get older, they will be able to change to more colours.
The hallway...... Keiran's room is at the left on the end of the hallway. Darren and Leila's, the right. The closed door is the Laundry Room/Bath and Shower Room. My bedroom is right beside me on the left.

At two, I went and helped Enert again with family support. Exact same food as last week: Green beans, tomatoes - always tomatoes. Lol, and goat meat.
And here is the preschool/daycare that I have been telling you about. Saying that it was beside the kitchen.
As I was giving the support people their food, this blind guy named Frank came in. He had gotten his beard cut since last week, so that's something new. Lol. Although he is blind, he will do any kind of work given to him.

He looks pretty depressed.
At 2 o'clock, I was at The Village Shop helping out Tom with bagging a ton of bags of salt and sugar cane sugar.
The Village Shop |
Darren wanted to take a photo through the window. Lol. And there is Tom, a super funny and friendly guy. Here I am scooping up sugar.
After an afternoon of bagging salt and sugar and talking and laughing.
And this guy here is the Chief of the Hope Village area. How you become a chief is by buying land and having people build on it. Then you're the Chief of that area.
The inside of the shop.
I finished at the shop at four o'clock and had forty-five minutes to myself before we would be going to the hospital for hospital ministry. And here I show ya that there is Palm Trees in Malawi. :D
Darren and Keiran didn't want to go to the hospital again, so it was Leila and I again. With Macford, the Emery's gardener, and of course, Ganizany. On our way to the get the pickup to go there, I noticed all these kids climbing on this teeter-totter. I managed to get a shot without them noticing. Well, a few did.
On our way to the hospital, I got an amazing picture of the sunset with smoke in the sky. That smoke is coming from a sugar cane field that they are burning to prep the sugar and to scare away any animals that are living in the field. They do this, because the next day they collect all of the sugar cane and start growing more sugar cane later in the year.
Chikhwawa District Hospital. |
Yes, it is a hospital - a very needed thing in this area, but it is starting to look pretty beat up, I must say.
Spreading the word through music and prayer. Ganizany has a pretty good voice.
Hospital Male Surgical.
And now Ganizany is caught sharing the word. It is really nice how all these people get right on into the songs and praying for each other even when they are hurt.

Hospital Female Ward......... Yeah....
The Female Ward wasn't as energetic as the Male wards. They more sat there and listened in.

We finished the hospital with these two rooms.
