Everyone was off of work today, because it was the Malawian Mother's Day! So because everyone was off, Darren let me have a day off, too. Leila decided to take us to a Wildlife Park to see some wildlife. After packing my water, Canon, and some Tylenol, we were on our way there.
The car had really bad AC, and the vehicle was left out in the sun, so it was really steamy inside, making it horrible to be in the car. Plus, we had to be in it for the duration of the whole Nyala Wildlife Park. It wasn't so bad if you had headache pills and water like I did. Lol
Along for the Ride. |
As we entered the gate to the Wildlife Reserve we saw these vervet monkeys running around. If you look closely, you can see the tiny baby holding onto his mother's fur tightly, so that they can move as one. Kind of like a kangaroo, but no pouch.

This thorn bush is about three feet tall, six feet wide, and over eight feet long.
Here I show you the size of one against the size of my hand.
After all those other animals, we finally found the giraffes.
A magnificent creature. |
We drove on to see some more giraffes, but we couldn't for awhile, because they were probably sleeping or had some fans at another place. Finally, coming around a corner, this giant was just standing there as if posing.
Hiya!! |
Isn't he adorable!? |

I see Africa. |
As Darren was taking photos of all of the giraffes, he headed back to the car and snapped one of me on his way. I am 16 and 5'10'' and I look like a 12 year old. Lol. At least when you guys are 60 looking 60, I'll be 60 looking in my 30s. Lol.
And the Nyala.
Here are some more of those Vervet chilling out on a tree.
And the huge watering hole.
As I took the watering hole photo, I looked up and saw the other Hope Village group sightseeing from a viewpoint. They have binoculars in their hands and smiles on their faces. Well, all except Pastor Mary. Lol.
Jackie (left) I forgot the middle one's name, and Pastor Mary (right) |
Does this remind you of Jurassic Park?! Lol. |
The Bird. |
We got back at 3 PM, in time for Leila to go meet some women that were moving into their new brick house. The car had been so hot due to bad AC that I had a headache and now sat around at the Emery's house.
After dinner, Keiran and I decided to go walk around Hope Village for awhile. The children quickly gathered around us, so we each grabbed a child by the hands and swung them around. One after the other they came, wanting me to swing them around. I stopped shortly after getting quite dizzy.
K and I headed back to the house. K to play on his Tablet, and I to blog for you guys reading it. ;)
