The Day the Rains Came

Today the rains came in the early morning. It was quite a bit cooler. After this I heard some news from Darren. Leila had received a call from her sister that her father had passed away. He was found sitting in his rocking chair at home. After not showing up for coffee for a few days, Leila's father's friend - his coffee buddy - had gone looking for him and found him.

So I offered to help out Leila for the day as she would probably be busy with other things. Thoughts, matters and all. I was first sent out to the shop to get some TNM (prepaid calling) phone credit, so Leila could call her sister.

I brought the TNM to Leila, but she sent me back as it was the wrong amounts. She also gave me some thousands of kwatcha to give to Gifti, so he could bike eight kilometers to the nearby village to buy the shop eggs. When I got to the shop, they didn't have the amounts that Leila wanted, so I brought the originals back again.

TNM phone credit and kwatcha by the thousands. And one five-hundred.
It was still cloudy and cooler at lunch time.

Darren telling Evance what to buy in Blantyre.
I biked over to the market to get us some chips (fries) for lunch. Yes, they are in doggy bags. Lol. That is what they use as bags here. They're cheap and there are tons. No, we do not eat out of dirty bags. They come a little uncooked, so we re-fry them in the deep fryer.

I offered to make dinner since Leila usually does it. I forgot a bit of my recipe for mushroom soup based chicken and rice, so I went onto my Pepperplate account to find it. After two hours, dinner was ready. I didn't add any salt, but it tasted salty. Making it taste a little off.

Leila is planning on heading back to Canada soon here to figure out things with her family.
